The Ellsworth Public Library will nurture a lifelong love of reading and provide access to its citizens through technology and the printed word. Patrons in good standing, those with current registration and no outstanding fines will be offered privileges of loans and services.


A valid library card must be issued in the patrons name in order to check out library materials.  The majority of loans are free.

Length of Loan -

Books and audiobooks will be due 14 days from the day they are checked out with an additional 14 daysrenewal available.

Periodicals will be due in 7 days with renewal available for 7 days.  The book fine applies to the periodicals also.

Most DVD's  are due in 7 days. New releases or 'new to us' DVDs are due in 2 days.

Number of Items Loaned - The library has established there be a limit of one new release loaned at a time.  Non new release DVD's and books limited to three.

Reserves - Reserves may be placed on all items that circulate.


Books/audiobooks/periodicals - A daily fee of $.25 is accessed after due date with a limit of $20.00

DVDs -A fine of $2.00 a day for DVDs after due date.  If fine over $20.00, a new DVD can be purchased for each late DVD in lieu of monetary payment.

Printing - Black and white printing - $.15 a page, Color printing - $.25 a page

FAXs -A fee of $1.00 for sending, $.50 for receiving

Supplies - CDs - $1.00 each

Interlibrary Loan - A fee of $3.00 for processing interlibrary loan requests for items not available through the library.  A $3.00 fee is charged for an interlibrary loan not picked up by the patron.
