Karlie Hunter started as the new Director of the Ellsworth Public Library on May 1, 2024. Karlie graduated from South Hamilton in 2019 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Iowa in the spring of 2022. She currently lives a few miles outside of Ellsworth with her husband, Isaac, and her golden retriever, Meeka.

Karlie loves to embroider, garden, do home DIY projects, play volleyball and pickleball, go for walks and bike rides, and, of course, read. Her favorite genres are historical fiction and Christian fiction and nonfiction. One of her favorite classics is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Stop in the library sometime and get to know Karlie a little better!

Young(ish) Adult Book Club

A book club designed for adults ages 18-30(ish) in the Hamilton County area (and surrounding communities) to get together and talk about a variety of books. The group will meet monthly on the last Monday of the month from 6-7pm.

The book to discuss will be announced and handed out at the previous month's meeting. (For example, September's book will be handed out in August.)

If you would like to join, please contact us so we can get you a book for the next discussion.

Library Board Meetings are on the 1st Thursday of every month at 5:30 pm.

Library Board of Trustee Meetings are held in the meeting room at the Ellsworth Public Library. The meetings are open to the public.
