Summer Library Program: Read, Renew, Repeat
We are kicking off the 2024 Summer Library Program with a variety of activities at the library June 3-7! There will be a 2-part recycled craft, Touch-A-Truck with American Sanitation, Adventures in the Park, a building project using recycled materials, a puzzle/board game swap, and an outdoor photo challenge! There will also be themed coloring pages and an indoor scavenger hunt available in the library all week long. Small prizes will be handed out for everyone who participates in an activity, and participants will be able to enter into a larger prize drawing. Check out our event calendar or stop in at the front desk for more details.
After the kickoff week is over, there will still be activities to get your kids both active and reading this summer! Bingo sheets and reading challenge bookmarks will be available all summer long. Turn these in before the end of July to be entered in the larger prize drawing. There will also be weekly drop-in or take-home activities at the library. Stop in at least once a week to take advantage of all the different activities offered!
Early Reader Section
You can find your favorite books by GENRE instead of by the author's last name or the Dewey decimal system. For example, if you are looking for a book about football, you can go to the Sports bin to find one about football! Need the book to be non-fiction? Look for the 'NF' sticker on the back left corner of the book.
We have a wide range of genres to choose from! Such as Farm Animals, Adventure, Weather, Tough Topics, Science, Family, and more!

We are VERY thankful to the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation and Iowa Select Farms for the STEM Cart. This cart is full of different STEM activities! Patrons in good standing can check out STEM kits to use in the library. Stop by to see what all the STEM cart has to offer!
